Types of Garden Lighting

A good lighting plan for your garden combines three layers. Basic lighting along paths and terraces ensures visibility. Accent lighting with ground spots or spike spots illuminates trees, shrubs, and borders. Mood lighting with pendant lamps or garden posts makes the garden inviting even after sunset.

In Lite garden lighting: the 12V system

In Lite is the most commonly used brand for 12V low voltage garden lighting. The system is safe, easy to install yourself, and fully expandable. A transformer converts the mains power to 12V; then you connect the lights via the EASY-LOCK system, without any digging.

Waterproof and durable

All garden lighting in our range has a minimum IP44 rating, which provides protection against rain and splashing water. Ground spots are usually IP65 or IP67 and resistant to temporary submersion.

Frequently asked questions about garden lighting

Which light color is best for garden lighting?

For ambient garden lighting, warm white (2700K–3000K) is the most popular choice. For functional lighting along paths or at the entrance, neutral white (3000K–4000K) is also suitable.
Is garden lighting frost-proof?

All garden lighting in our range is designed for outdoor use and is resistant to frost, rain, and heat. Always check the product specifications for the operating temperature range, which typically runs from -20°C to +40°C.
Should I bury a cable for garden lighting?

With the In Lite 12V system, the power cable does not need to be buried deeply. The low-voltage cable can also be laid under mulch or just below the surface. For 230V installations, buried cable in a conduit is mandatory.
What is the difference between spike lights and ground lights?

A spike light is inserted into the ground with a ground spike and is easy to move. A ground recessed light is buried flush with the ground and provides a sleeker result that is also resistant to mowing and foot traffic.
