Where do you use ground lights?

Ground lights are suitable along driveways and garden paths for a sleek demarcation, for illuminating trees and special plants, along fences and walls for accents, and around patios. By placing multiple ground lights in a line, you achieve a symmetrical effect.

IP rating: waterproof ground lights

A high IP rating is required for ground lights that are buried in the ground. Choose at least IP65 (protected against water jets) or IP67 (resistant to temporary immersion up to 1 meter). At In Lite, all ground lights are designed for long-term outdoor use.

12V or 230V ground light?

12V ground lights from In Lite are the safest choice for DIY enthusiasts: no electrician needed, easy to connect to the In Lite transformer. 230V ground lights provide more power and are suitable for larger gardens, but require a certified electrician.

What IP rating does a ground spot need?

For ground spots that are dug into the ground, we recommend a minimum of IP65. If the ground spot may temporarily be submerged, for example, due to heavy rainfall, choose IP67.
Can I install a ground spot in the driveway?

Yes, but then you need a drive-over model with a wheel load of at least 1.5 tons (class F). Standard ground lights are not suitable for this. In Lite offers specific drive-over ground lights for use in paving and driveways.
How deep should I bury a ground spot?

The installation depth varies per product. Generally, ground spots are buried in such a way that the top is flush with or slightly above ground level. Please consult the installation manual provided with the specific product.
Are ground lights directional?

Many ground spots, including the popular SCOPE series from In Lite, have a tiltable light source. This allows you to angle the light beam to illuminate a tree, wall or border from below. The exact tilt angle varies per model.
